London - Police in Britain yesterday promised to crack down on Christmas revellers hurling racist abuse at restaurant staff by increasing the number of times they go undercover as diners.

Gloucestershire police have stepped up their anti-racism campaign in the run-up to the festive season. Police will be increasing the number of nights they stage Operation Napkin. The scheme involves plainclothes officers posing as diners.
