Indonesian police said today that a man being interrogated has admitted being part of a group that carried out the Bali bombing.

Indonesia's bational police chief Mr Da'i Bachtiar.

National police chief Mr Da'i Bachtiar said the man, identified only as Amrozi, was one of a group with various tasks assigned to them.

"They are a group of people who have assigned jobs. Among them is Amrozi, who has admitted having come there [to Bali] and he was assigned to secure the mission and was also responsible for actions in the field," he told reporters.

The police chief said Amrozi was the last buyer of the van that exploded outside the Sari Club in the resort island, killing more than 190 people.

Asked if Amrozi has admitted being the field coordinator for the bombings, Mr Bachtiar replied: "Yes. That is it." The police chief said further details would be given later.

"So far we only have one suspect," he told reporters after meeting top security minister Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
