Police in Co Armagh last night discovered a large-scale counterfeiting operation believed to be connected to loyalist paramilitaries.

Equipment for copying DVDs, CDs, videos and computer games was discovered during a search of a house and commercial premises in Killygomaine, Portadown.

Officers from the Serious and Organised Crime Unit were joined by Craigavon police in the operation.

Police estimate the value of the goods and equipment seized at £200,000, describing the counterfeiting operation as "substantial".

A transit van containing suspected counterfeit goods was also seized. Police are questioning a number of people.
