Police in Derry believe the shootings of two men at their homes in the Creggan area of the city on Wednesday night were linked. Nine masked men were involved in the shootings.
In the first shooting the victim, in his 30s, who had been released from police custody last Friday, was shot in front of his partner while two young children slept upstairs.
Shortly afterwards four masked men entered a house at nearby Creggan Heights and shot the second man three times in the left leg, also in front of his partner.
