A police inspector in Britain has been charged with child pornography offences.
Inspector Chris Wratten, 48, of Bexhill, East Sussex, has been charged with 27 offences of making indecent images of children.
He has been bailed to appear at Crawley Magistrates Court on October 11th, Sussex Police said.
A second Sussex officer based in Brighton who was arrested in August as part of "Operation Ore" remains on bail pending further inquiries.
The operation was begun by British police earlier this year to track down users of pay-per-view child pornography websites in the United States.
In Warwickshire, a 39-year-old police officer arrested yesterday on suspicion of child pornography offences has been released on bail, police say.
The Gloucestershire officer was detained at a house over allegations he had accessed indecent images of children on the Internet.
