Ryanair was forced to evacuate a flight in Dublin today after a gun cartridge was found.

Ryanair was forced to evacuate a flight in Dublin today after a gun cartridge was found.

A passenger discovered the cartridge on the floor of the aircraft minutes before it was due to take off from Dublin Airport.

“Ryanair immediately reported this find to the Airport Police and gardai who conducted a search of the aircraft and examined all passengers’ hand luggage,” a spokesman for the airline said.

Nothing was found and the flight was cleared to depart to Denmark at 12.55pm.

Passengers were taken off the plane while both airport police and gardaí conducted a search.

After the search, passengers were re-screened by security staff and allowed to board the plane.
