Pipebomb thrown at car in Antrim attack

The PSNI are investigating a pipebomb attack in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, last night in which a device was thrown at a car.

The device ignited on a grass area near houses in the Mayfield Court area of the town shortly before 9.25pm, damaging two cars.

There were no injuries, and the PSNI have appealed for witnesses.

Elsewhere, a petrol bomb was thrown at a church hall in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, at 10.15pm yesterday but failed to ignite, and no damage was caused.

There were people inside the hall at the time.
