THE Irish Airline Pilots' Association has accused Aer Lingus of trying to destroy their mutually agreed pay review process.
Capt Dermot Rafferty, chairman of the Aer Lingus group, said yesterday the tribunal established under the process recommended a five per cent pay increase for the pilots from October 1st, to be followed by further five per cent and seven per cent increases over the next two years. Aer Lingus rejected the tribunal's recommendation.
Calling on the company to reconsider its decision, he pointed out that both sides entered the process willingly and repeated their commitment to it on a number of occasions.
