Gardaí investigating three separtate attacks by a man on taxi drivers last weekend have issued a photofit of the suspect.

He is described as aged in his late twenties or early thirties, between five foot eight and five foot teen inches, of medium build, with short dark hair and a pale complexion.
He was wearing a yellow t-shirt and beige jeans.
One driver was bitten, one cut with a knife and another had a rope put around his neck. Two of the drivers had cash taken by the culprit.
The first attadck happened at 3 p.m. on Friday May 23rd, when a man got into a taxi at the rank on Sackville Street, Dublin 1. He asked to be taken to Thomas Street but when the taxi approached the man told the driver to stop at John Dillon Street. The man then grabbed the taxi man around the neck and demanded cash.
A struggle ensued and the taxi driver was bitten on the hand. A small amount of cash was taken and the culprit ran off in the direction of Thomas Street.
The second incident happend at midnight on Friday May 23rd, when a taxi was hailed at High Street by a man who asked to be taken to John Dillon Street. When the taxi arrived at its destination he produced a knife and demanded cash.
A struggle broke out and the taxi driver received a cut to the hand, the culprit then pulled the driver out of the car and drove off in the taxi. A search by Gardaí located the car in the Rueben Street area.
The third incident happened at 3 a.m. on Saturday May 24th, when a man hailed a taxi at Strand Road, Dublin 1 and asked to be taken to Thomas Street. Again the taxi was told to stop at John Dillon Street where a rope was put around the taxi driver's neck and cash demanded. A struggle ensued and the taxi driver managed to break free and the culprit ran off.
