Bilbao - Some 40 hooded attackers threw Molotov cocktails at banks and police patrols in the Basque town of Guernica on New Year's morning, police said yesterday.
The incidents began at 3 a.m. with firebombs causing serious damage at four banks. The assailants also attacked police arriving on the scene.
There were no reports of casualties.
