A petrol bomb and other missiles were thrown at PSNI officers during a disturbance in Belfast City centre last night.

Police said they came under attack with stones and other missiles when they responded to a "public disturbance" in the Markets area.

A Sinn Féin spokesman claimed a 14-year-old boy from the area was attacked by loyalists in nearby East Bridge Street.

He claimed a police patrol ignored the attack and refused to arrest his attackers.
