Police have arrested a 70-year-old man in connection with the shooting of a boy in a school playground in Fermanagh.

Police have arrested a 70-year-old man in connection with the shooting of a boy in a school playground in Fermanagh.

Darragh Somers (5) has recovered since being shot in the head while playing with classmates outside Mullinaskea Primary School, near Enniskillen in April.

He had two lengthy operations and was critically ill at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.

Detective Chief Inspector Nigel Kyle confirmed police were not seeking anyone else for the shooting and were preparing a file to go to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

During the investigation, more than 51 rifles in the area were seized for ballistic examination.
