A BELFAST university student who bit off part of another man's ear during a melee at a Cookstown nightclub was given a conditional discharge for a year at Cookstown Magistrates Court yesterday.
Neil Francis Gillan (22), of Fitzroy Avenue, Belfast, was said to have attended a disco in the nightclub with a number of local girls.
The fracas had arisen due to some Cookstown youths taking umbrage at local girls fraternising with youths from Belfast.
