THE TRIAL of two French Muslims charged with carrying out bomb attacks in Morocco in 1994, in which two Spanish tourists were killed, starts in Paris on Monday. A Moroccan student died yesterday bringing the total number of deaths in the attack to three.

There are growing fears that Tuesday's train bombing was not an isolated incident that that the forthcoming trial could be used as an excuse for further terrorist attacks, writes Mairead Carey.

The second anniversary of the killing of Algerian extremists who had hijacked an Air France plane is also coming up later this month.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for Tuesday's attack but it is widely believed that it was the armed Islamic group, GIA.
