The parents of a 16-year-old Cork schoolgirl who has gone missing from her home, possibly with an older man, have appealed to their daughter to make contact and to let them know she is safe and well.

Brid O'Connor, a pupil at Carrigaline Community School, Co Cork, has not been seen since she left home on Sunday, May 26th. She has not contacted her parents, Declan and Catriona O'Connor, or her friends.

It is understood that the girl went missing on a previous occasion but was traced to another part of Cork city and brought home.

Her parents said yesterday they were very concerned for her safety. Garda sources said they were hoping the girl would be located and brought home safely.
