Junior Cert - German: Yesterday's papers at both higher and ordinary level were seen as accessible and user-friendly.
Higher-level texts covered topics such as tattooing and body piercing.Teachers said students would have been comfortable with being asked to describe topics such as their homes and pets.
Ms Ann McKiernan, ASTI spokeswoman, said students were asked to write about their free time in the past tense. The question was well prepared. The higher-level paper has been shortened in recent years to incorporate two texts, not three.
The ordinary level paper was also described as being contemporary. The paper dealt with topical issues and students said they were comfortable with them. The texts were interesting to read, according to teachers and students, particularly the text about spending a year abroad.
The letter section of the lower- level paper asked students to write a letter to a pen-pal and they were offered a good choice, according to teachers.
The lower-level paper has also been shortened and was described as not too demanding.
