Panama City - Panamanian authorities yesterday increased security around President Fidel Castro of Cuba after he revealed an alleged assassination plot against him.

Dr Castro announced at a press conference in Panama that an opposition group, the Miami-based Cuban American National Foundation, planned to assassinate him during the Ibero-American summit here, which ends today. The foundation denied the charge.
