London - A guest at an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace was injured yesterday when a large plaster moulding plummeted from the ceiling. Guests receiving honours from Queen Elizabeth at first thought a bomb had gone off. The queen paused briefly before carrying on with the ceremony.

Mr Nick Howell (28) was attending the ceremony to see his father being presented with an Order of the British Empire when a heavy gilded plaster moulding plunged down.
