The ESB is working to restore power to more than 600 homes in the southeast and northwest of the country after a storm disrupted supplies in counties Donegal, Sligo and Wexford.

The company said most of the problems were caused by trees falling on power lines.

A spokesman said repair teams were working to remove the trees and that they hoped to restore power to all homes today.
