Racing: Ed Dunlop's popular mare Ouija Board is on course for the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on September 9th after pleasing her Newmarket handler in a workout yesterday.

The five-year-old has not been seen since getting the better of Alexander Goldrun in a thrilling renewal of the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood earlier this month.

She was also successful in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot in June and will be bidding to land her seventh Group One success if making the line-up in the 10-furlong showpiece, for which jockey plans are yet to be finalised.

"I was very happy with her work and we are aiming towards Ireland - the ground in France looks like being very soft for the Prix Vermeille," Dunlop told the Racing Post.

"We don't know who rides her at this stage. We will just have to see how plans unfold."

William Hill currently make Ouija Board the 9-4 favourite for the upcoming event, while her vanquished Goodwood rival Alexander Goldrun trades at 4-1.
