Rpresentatives of the Orange Order are to meet with residents of the nationalist Ardoyne ahead of a contentious July 12th parade.
The meeting follows a request by the Twaddell & Wodvale Residents Association for three lodges to meet directly with the Crumlin and Ardoyne Residents Association.
The move was widely welcomed. Sinn Féin MLA for North Belfast, Gerry Kelly, welcomed the proposed meeting. “I very much welcome the news of these talks. The residents group, CARA, is on the public record calling for such talks for some years,” Mr Kelly said.

Presbyterian Moderator Rt Rev Dr Rob Craig said “Local face to face dialogue on the basis of mutual respect is always to be encouraged and should be welcomed by all people of good will.”
