The National Transport Agency (NTA) is seeking public opinion ahead of awarding new public bus service contracts.
Bus users and members of the public are being asked to give their views on a range of issues via a questionnaire by July 11th, ahead of new contracts being issued in 2014.
The questions range from value for money, comfort, punctuality and quality of service, to what could be done to improve current public bus services.
Since 2009, Dublin Bus has been the public bus service provider for Dublin, while Bus Éireann has provided services to the rest of the country.
Contracts for provision of public bus services last for a maximum of five years.
"It is the first time that public opinion has been sought on this matter. We would encourage as many people as possible to read the documentation on the website and complete the simple questionnaire," NTA spokeswoman Sara Morris said.
Following public consultation, they will consider whether to award the same contracts to service providers or to competitively tender some or all of their services.
The feedback will then be compiled into a report and made available online.
