Here's another tenor début album, this time from China. This is Yu Qiang Dai's first recorded album, and it demonstrates a fine lyric tenor voice, even throughout the range with a ringing top register. Also, on the evidence of this recital, he has the ability to cover both the light bel canto repertoire along with the heavier verismo arias. Some more imagination in the choice of material in the recital (short at 44 minutes) would have facilitated a clearer view of his emotional range and interpretative capability. www.emi.classics.com
