Only one man has been convicted in connection with the Omagh bomb.
Colm Murphy, a builder and publican from Ravensdale, Co Louth, was sentenced last year by the Special Criminal Court in Dublin to 14 years imprisonment for conspiring to cause the explosion.
He is appealing the conviction. Last month, he and four other men were named in writs as being involved in the Omagh bomb.
It is part of a civil case brought by lawyers for the bereaved. They are seeking damages from those they claim were involved in the atrocity.
The five men named in the writs are Murphy, Mr Seamus Campbell, Mr Seamus McKenna, Mr Mickey McKevitt and Liam Campbell. Mr McKevitt is currently awaiting trial for directing terrorism.
He is denying the charges.
Campbell is serving five years in Portlaoise Prison for membership of an illegal organisation. Republicans in Dundalk, Co Louth, have said that all five men will be "strenuously denying" the allegations made in the writs.
At different points in recent years, each of the five has denied any involvement in the Omagh bomb.
It is understood a hearing will take place in Belfast High Court later this year.
