Customs officials today seized 21,000 litres of oil at an illegal laundering plant in Co Donegal.
The oil was seized along with an oil tanker on a farm near Culdaff. A man was questioned in connection with the haul and a file has been sent to the DPP.
An official said the plant had the capacity to process about 20,000 litres of oil a week, with a potential loss to Revenue of almost €500,000 a year in lost excise duty and VAT.
