Ocalan appeal date set

Ankara - A Turkish court will rule next month on Kurdish rebel chief Abdullah Ocalan's appeal against a death sentence, a judge said yesterday. Judge Demirel Tavil, presiding at the Appeals Court, told a hearing closely watched by EU countries that the court would adjourn until November 25th, when it would deliver a verdict on a sentence Turkey's Western allies have urged not to be carried out.
