The executive chairman of Independent Newspapers, Dr Tony O'Reilly, has donated £2

The executive chairman of Independent Newspapers, Dr Tony O'Reilly, has donated £2.5 million towards the cost of a new library at Dublin City University (DCU). The cost of the library is £17.5 million and the rest of the funds come from the State and from private sources. Dr O'Reilly is making his donation through the O'Reilly Foundation.

The university is to name the library the John and Aileen O'Reilly Library, after Dr O'Reilly's parents.
