Aberdeen - A nun was yesterday found guilty of four charges of cruelty against youngsters in her care at children's homes. Marie Docherty (58), also known as Sister Alphonso, sat motionless in the dock as the jury returned the four majority guilty verdicts.
Three other charges against her at Aberdeen Sheriff Court were found not proven. The charges related to the nun's time caring for children in Nazareth House children's homes in Aberdeen and Midlothian.
