The National University of Ireland has increased the value of its annual scholarships and other awards from next year by over 50 per cent to £626,500.
The awards include four new post-doctoral fellowships in the humanities, science, Irish studies and international studies worth £20,000 a year. There will also be eight three-year travelling scholarships each worth £9,000 per annum and £165,000 will be awarded to help equip university botany and zoology laboratories.
