Swimming:Ireland's Melanie Nocher has won bronze in the 200m backstroke at the European short-course swimming championships in Poland.

Having set a new national record in the semi-finals, the Belfast swimmer raised the bar again when posting a time of 2:04.29 to finish behind second-placed Duane Da Rocha Marce of Spain and winner Darina Zevina.

The medal rounds of a memorable week in Szczezin for Nocher, who has never before won a medal at a major championships.

She set two national records in Thursday's 100m backstroke as she finished 15th overall and added two more today on the way to bronze.
