The death toll from Wednesday's crash in the Gotthard Alpine tunnel is unlikely to rise above the 11 confirmed dead, Swiss police said today.
More than 100 people are still missing after the tunnel fire set off by a head-on collision between two trucks.
Eleven people have been confirmed dead so far and police had feared that more could still be buried in a mass of melted debris around the core of the conflagration.
Rescue crews peered into the blackened hulks of abandoned cars near the accident site earlier today, but found no remains.
