Britain: The standup comedian who gatecrashed the 21st birthday party of Britain's Prince William will not face charges, police said yesterday.

Wearing a false beard, a turban and a pink dress, the self-styled "comedy terrorist" Aaron Barschak broke into the party on June 21st by climbing a wall and then duping a policeman inside.

Police said the decision followed advice from the Crown Prosecution Service, who advised there was no suitable charge.

Press reports at the time of the Windsor Castle party said Barschak kissed Prince William on both cheeks before the alarm was raised.

Senior British politicians and security officials said the intruder could have killed the entire royal family if he had been an armed attacker.

British Home Secretary Mr David Blunkett told parliament shortly after the incident the security breach exposed an "appalling failure" of policing. - (PA)
