A Limerick man has been jailed for nine years after he was found in possession of a loaded shotgun. Christopher Casey (24), St Munchin's Street, St Mary's Park, pleaded guilty at Limerick Circuit Court yesterday to possessing a firearm with intent to commit a crime on June 11th at Killeely Road.
Det Garda Pat Crowley said Casey was arrested after a garda saw him him and another man on a stolen motorbike at 1.50 a.m. After a short chase he was arrested and his sawn-off shotgun was found to be loaded at the time.
The court heard the incident was related to an ongoing feud and that Casey was under the influence of a criminal gang. He had previous convictions.
