Racing: Kauto Star is set for a "normal" week of training ahead of next Tuesday's Stan James King George VI Chase at Kempton.

Paul Nicholls confirmed his brilliant chaser to be well on course for the St Stephen's Day showpiece, which is not likely to see Kauto Star's stablemate Thisthatandtother in the final line-up.

Nicholls said: "Kauto will have a normal programme with a couple of canters and possibly a school at the end of the week. All the work has been done. I may leave Thisthatandtother in the race although I would say it is very unlikely he will take his chance.

"I shall make a decision about him on Wednesday. It looks like being a small and select field which should be ideal for my horse."

Kauto Star is an 8-13 chance with the sponsors to land the Grade One event at the venue.
