Television viewers in Northern Ireland will now receive RTE One and Network 2 as part of NTL's basic digital package. The two channels will join BBC, UTV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 on the company's "digitalplus" subscription. RTE's director of television, Mr Cathal Goan, said the development fulfilled the station's "long-held aspiration to serve all the people of the island of Ireland".
