A particularly dangerous batch of heroin may be in circulation in Northern Ireland police warned tonight following a sudden death.

Police said the death of a man in Co Antrim during the afternoon may be drug related.

The 30-year-old was found dead in the bedroom of a house near Toombridge.

A police spokesman said one line of enquiry was that the man, who has not been named, had taken heroin.

"Police are warning that a particularly dangerous batch of the drug may be in circulation in the area," said the spokesman.

A post mortem exam is to be carried out and police are investigating the death on behalf of the coroner.
