ISLAMABAD - Mr Nawaz Sharif (47) was sworn in as Pakistan's new Prime Minister yesterday by President Farooq Leghari. Earlier, Mr Sharif won a resounding 177-16 vote of confidence from the newly elected National Assembly.
The new Prime Minister has said he wants to tackle Pakistan's economic problems, combat corruption and improve ties with neighbouring India.
