Karachi - The Pakistani government has appointed a new judge to hear a treason and murder conspiracy case against the deposed prime minister, Mr Nawaz Sharif, and six other co-accused, officials said yesterday. Justice Shabbir Ahmed of Sindh High Court will head an anti-terrorism court which is to indict them today, the chief prosecutor, Mr Raja Qureshi, said. The government named the judge in consultation with the chief justice of the Sindh High Court following last week's amendment in the country's anti-terrorism act.
