The Government has appointed Circuit Court Judge John D O'Hagan a member of the Special Criminal Court from February 1st. He replaces Mr Justice Esmond Smyth, President of the Circuit Court.
Judge O'Hagan was called to the Bar in 1969 and was a member of the Eastern Circuit for 26 years, including 16 years on criminal cases. He was called to the Inner Bar in 1996 and was appointed to the Circuit Court Bench in April 1998.
