A new injunction to stop Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Co Council carrying out road works in the vicinity of Carrickmines Castle, in South Co Dublin, will be lodged with the Supreme Court tomorrow, The Irish Times has learned.

Conservationist Mr Derek Dunne who has previously campaigned against the demolition of the remains of Carrickmines Castle, is seeking the injunction because, he says, the council is proceeding with work "ancillary to the M50" motorway.

The new injunction relates to work on a junction which would lead traffic on to the M50.
