The number of new cars licensed in the State in November fell slightly on the same period last year.
Some 3,763 new cars were licensed last month compared with 3,781 in November 2003.
But for the year to date the number of new cars registered was up 4.7 per cent on last year and stood at 147,664 to the end of November.
The number of second-hand cars licensed this year is nearly 57 per cent ahead of the same period last year at 19,199.
