British DIY retailer B&Q opened its second Irish store today in Tallaght today creating 165 jobs in west Dublin.
The 5,964-square-metre store on the Belgard Road follows the successful Liffey Valley outlet in Lucan that opened 18 months ago.
B&Q employs 240 people in Liffey Valley, having recruited a further 45 staff to satisfy demand.
B&Q plans to open a further eight stores in Ireland over the next four years, the size of which will depend on location and local market environment.
Depending on the size of stores opened, B&Q expects this expansion to provide an additional 1,000 to 1,800 new jobs nationwide.
