Derby winner New Approach will round off his 2008 campaign in the Emirates Airline Champion Stakes at Newmarket on October 18th.
Jim Bolger's charge claimed the Irish equivalent on his latest start and connections have decided to sidestep possible runs in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe or Breeders' Cup to run at Headquarters.
"It has been decided that New Approach will bypass Longchamp and run instead in the Champion Stakes at Newmarket," Bolger said today.
"It was decided that running in the Arc would be problematical because of the draw factor and it is probably the case that the mile and a quarter trip at Newmarket should suit him better than a mile and a half at Longchamp," he told the Racing Post.
Meanwhile, Richard Hills will take the ride aboard Youmzain after owner Jaber Abdullah decided to replace regular partner Richard Hughes.
