A new civic park has been opened in Dublin City centre today.

The €1 million Wolfe Tone Memorial Park at Jervis Street was opened by the new Dublin City Lord Mayor, Cllr Dermot Lacey.

An international competition was held for designs to reshape the park as part of HARP Urban Renewal Project. Architect Mr Peter Cody won the competition and pursued an open-plaza approach.

In future the venue will host the City Councils `Music in the Park' Programme.

Under the HARP project redevelopment, work has been carried out at St Michan's Park, Fr Matthew Square, Ormond Square and Smithfield.
