Officials at Navan have given the go-ahead for racing on Sunday after the track passed a morning inspection.

Officials at Navan have given the go-ahead for racing on Sunday after the track passed a morning inspection.

The threat of severe weather conditions overnight failed to materialise which led to Navan moving forward their precautionary inspection from 10.00am to 9.00am.

Cliff Noone, press officer for the Irish Turf Club, said: "The main problem they (Navan) had was the fear of another dose of snow.

"It didn't happen, it's not likely to happen, and they are quite happy the situation is hunky-dory and ready to race."

The going is currently soft, soft to heavy in place for the seven-race card, which begins at 12.40pm.
