A man who beat a Cork girl to death later told relatives that he had killed a young man in a fight, a trial at the Central Criminal Court has heard.
"I just don't know my own strength," Mr Jonathan Kepple told his uncle. He also told his aunt that the girl he was with that night had helped him bury the body. He later confessed to gardai that he had killed the girl and that there was no young man involved.
Mr Jonathan Kepple (19) of Deptford, London, agrees that he killed Ms Rachel Sandyman (17) on waste ground in Mahon, Cork City, on February 5th, 2000, but has pleaded not guilty to murder.
The case continues.
