The officer in charge of the investigation into the murder of a convicted drug dealer in Greystones, Co Wicklow, said yesterday gardai were following a particular line of inquiry. Mr Joseph Vickers was beaten to death with a blunt weapon, according to the results of a post-mortem. His body was found outside his burning caravan on Greystones beach early on Monday morning.

Supt Philip Moynihan said gardai would have the results of forensic tests either today or tomorrow. Meanwhile, he added, "if there are any more witnesses out there, we would ask them to come forward".
