A Belfast inquest was told yesterday that a gun used to kill a man during an INLA internal feud had been used in five previous murders and four attempted murders in the city, all carried out by the INLA.

Francis John Shannon (21), unemployed, of Velsheda Court, in the Ardoyne district, was shot three or four times in the head and hit once in the chest even though he was wearing body armour.

The shooting took place near the junction of Norfolk Way and Norglen Gardens on June 9th last year.
