Munster 31 Bristol 10
Munster’s first match under new coach Alan Gaffney has resulted in a win as the Heineken Cup finalists saw off Bristol in convincing fashion at Thomond Park tonight.
Bristol, playing the first in a series of three challenge matches this side of the Irish Sea, had taken a first-half lead when Lee Best crashed over in the corner.
The score remained at 5-0 until shortly after the break when Mick Galwey scored a converted try to earn a 7-5 lead.

Galwey, Jeremy Staunton and Kevin O’Riordan all subsequently breached the visitors line and with makeshift out-half Staunton adding points from the boot, Munster ran out comfortable winners in front of their new coach.
