Mulcahy elected Lord Mayor of Dublin

Mr Michael Mulcahy of Fianna Fáil has been elected the new Lord Mayor of Dublin tonight

Mr Michael Mulcahy of Fianna Fáil has been elected the new Lord Mayor of Dublin tonight. Mr Eric Byrne of Labour is to be Deputy Lord Mayor.

Mr Mulcahy, 41, who is barrister by profession, succeeds Fianna Fáil’s Mr Maurice Ahern as Lord Mayor of Dublin.

Fianna Fáil’s Mr Dick Sadlier has been elected mayor of Limerick.

In Cork,Mr Tom O'Driscoll of Fianna Fáil is the new Lord Mayor, while Mr Donal Lyons of the PDs has been elected Mayor of Galway.
